Top of each floor may be hard to get to, especially if fire exits are in floors below it, but they can just leave the doors open when they leave and go to the next floor to fill them in. I think I like this idea. It's actually not something I've thought of before. How did you come up with this? I think it's been a long time since I was in a fire, though I've been in a couple other things. I'm just remembering the "maximize efficiency" mentality. That's how we'd fill in those holes. A few ideas: Make it so that if the next floor is a higher floor that the holes in the current floor are all filled in. This would require you to have multiple doors, possibly, and have them all "bridgeable." Make it so that the floor that you enter is the bottom floor of a multi-story building and the next floor is a higher one. In either of the above situations, you could have a fixed set of open doors on all the floors. This is basically what I was imagining for the new set of doors. Make it so that floors are simply "holes" in a floor, not connected by a stairway. This would basically require you to have a total of 4 floors, with no stairs. However, the floors would be larger than normal, so that you could just have the holes and not need stairs. There would be two of these on every floor, making it easier to fill in the holes in the floor. The downside is that it would be much more difficult to get to the top floor. These are only ideas for the actual room. You can have more doors than that, you just need to look at the floor plan. I'd also think about the location of these doors. They're going to be hard to get to, so you can't just leave them open. I'm still going to stick with the concept that there are "holes" in the floor. I can't really figure out how to make this work without it. Also, making it so that the next floor is higher than the one you're leaving sounds good. It would give you more ground to work with when filling in the holes. I don't see the point of making it so that the floor you enter is the bottom floor of
